As part of our commitment to decrease carbon emissions within a research environment, we offer a green scholarship. It is an experiment with the purpose to encourage students to think about their carbon footprint when choosing their way of travel. We will use the learning from this years’ school to improve the format to next editions. The total budget for the scholarship is 1000 EUR, which will be split among the applicants (e.g. 10 applicants will get 100 EUR each, 2 applicants 500 EUR, etc). Interested applicants must send us a written letter by the end of June 2026 with their travel tickets and calculations about how much carbon has been displaced per km by changing the travel plan to Copenhagen (e.g., by taking a train instead of a plane). An internal committee will then decide how to split the amount. The scholarship is provided as reimbursement of travel expenses. Recipients may claim reimbursement for their actual, documented travel expenses up to the amount of the scholarship awarded. Reimbursement cannot exceed either the awarded scholarship amount or the actual travel expenses incurred, whichever is lower. Any unused portion of the awarded scholarship will not be paid out.
