Travelling to Copenhagen

Copenhagen is well connected internationally and there are many ways to arrive in the danish capital.

By train

Denmark can be easily reached by train from many European countries. For example coming from Sweden, Norway, Germany, and The Netherlands you could explore this option.

More information can be found on the following train planners:

  • Sweden and Norway: DSB or SJ
  • Germany: Deutsche Bahn (also good planner for journeys that pass through Germany, from i.e. the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland)
  • Other options: Interrail (can be worth checking for long journeys with many stops as it may be cheaper)

By bus

There are bus services that drive to Copenhagen from a variety of cities across Europe.

By boat

There is an overnight ferry from Oslo which takes you directly to Copenhagen. If you book in time this is an affordable and comfortable way to reach Copenhagen.

See the DFDS website for more information.

By plane

Copenhagen has a centrally located airport, which is well-connected to most European cities as well as some other international destinations as well. From the airport, you can reach the city center in about 15 minutes by metro. Plan your metro trip here.
